A San Francisco Tradition Since 1977
Bay Club San Francisco was the first downtown, multi-recreation, coed club in the country. We are located in a former cold storage warehouse and one of the city's first buildings in the Embarcadero/North Beach area. We created the first center for aerobics in the Bay Area and also offered the first downtown shuttle service, which continues to bring members to and from the Financial District and the Club.
Firsts for Bay Club San Francisco
During the height of the racquetball craze in the early '80s, Bay Club San Francisco offered the best racquetball courts in the city. As squash became increasingly popular in Europe, we seized the opportunity to focus on this fast-growing sport and developed the first comprehensive squash program ever offered in a multi-recreation club facility.
First-Class Quality and Service
Bay Club San Francisco has always provided high-quality programs and excellent service to our members. We established a standard that requires each personal trainer to be certified by the American College of Sports Medicine (ACSM) or the National Academy of Sports Medicine (NASM), which is internationally recognized as one of the top certifying bodies for fitness professionals. We apply the same high standards to staff specializing in squash, massage, and swim instruction, and programs throughout the Club.
